plist Files

On Aug 24, 2007, at 2:54 PM, I asked:

An additional comment and question ...

In addition to .plist files, there are other file type extensions which are xml files.
.xml - this seems to be a general purpose xml file.
.savedSearch - I know these are called "Smart Folders", but they are just xml files. I haved used this to write searches via AppleScript that you just can't do manually.

Question: Are there other file extensions that indicate an xml structure and, if so, what are they?
(I've looked, but haven't yet found any others. I suspect they exist.)

Today, while trying to find where Safari stores my bookmarks, I also found the following interesting file extensions that can be opened with "Property List Editor" ...

.abcdp - these are Address Book files

.webbookmark - these are Safari bookmark files, each contains just a single bookmark URL

Unfortunately, I never did find Safari's master bookmark file. Surely there is a file somewhere that contains information about how my bookmarks are organized into folders, sub-folders, &c. ....... ????
