Put in other words, 1. and 2. store a password used to authenticate against a remote rsyncd daemon, not to authenticate a remote user.

That's what I thought would be the case, so I was kinda hoping that applescript would have a method of applying the remote servers password.. (Maybe something similar to using username and password to perform Administrator Privs on local shell script commands)
