It's likely something that has been fixed in Tiger. I still can't go there because I really need my SE/30 file server for a while. Perhaps a new Mac at Christmas time. . . I think I can replace the SE/30 with a Linux box and ssh with scp but I'm still pissed about it. I can still open Excel 3 files with Excel 2001!
But Panther displays all extensions except for .app.
