Hello
I received responce which surprised me.
"The ellipsis does not exist in ASCII or Latin-1 - but it does exist in
Windows-1252, which is a"
The ellipsis is the char given in AppleScript by ASCII character
(201) and I was said here some months ago that the AppleScript's set
is MacRoman.
This char is also diven in AppleWorks 6 by char(201) and AppleWorks
was also described as using MacRoman.
Looking at
http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/MacRoman
one may see this ellipsis at $C9 (aka decimal 201).
I always uses Mail.app in its standard settings. So I'm very surprised.
Maybe the explanation is that in Mail.app, the menu item
Message > Encoding > Occidental (Mac OS Roman) is always greyed.
Oops, I apologize, while checking the menu item wording I clicked on
"Send" so you got a partial message.
