Number Formatting

Hi everyone,

Does anyone have a subroutine for formatting a number to a string with thousand and decimal separators? The number may go as high as many millions (they're stock volumes - yes I know most of these are falling - so no jokes required).

This is for an AppleScript Studio project, so I tried to work with "CFNumberFormatter" using a call method, but the syntax escapes me.

For extra credit, a localised solution would be preferable!

Simon
