All variants of the 'front document' command DO work properly if
the QuickTime Player application is visible. I'm just trying to
play some music while AppleScripting and one of the first lines in
my script hides QuickTime Player. I removed this line and now my
script works properly until I hide QuickTime Player, then it
starts playing documents in reverse order.
I think I'll restore the 'hide' command and live with it.
Seems like a bug to me. I think it's better they fix it: <https://bugreport.apple.com/

I've submitted Bug ID # 5860951. We'll see what happens.
Thanks Luther,
(I noticed that my two other bugs are still 'open' after 2 years.)
I've got ~dozen of those myself. Odd that some departments even send
you a follow-up if the bug's been fixed while others go into limbo.
