I'm putting together an AppleScript that takes a (no! several) screenshot and should then cut out a specific region. So I know the coordinates of the four edges of the region I'm interested in.

Am I mistaken if I assume that there is NO way to tell the image events, which region to cut out?

I just se crop and pad, both just get dimensions but no starting point.

Or is there a way to tell the screencapture commandline tool, which screenregion to capture, so that I don't need to cut something out later?

I don't know if there's anything new in Leopard but there's a freeware tool available here:
