QuickTime sound volume

  • Subject: QuickTime sound volume

The QuickTime Player dictionary says that I can set the volume of a document like this ...

sound volume integer : the sound volume of the movie (0..384), where 256 is 100%

Yes, I can and I've tried setting the sound volume to 384 (= 150%), but the document seems to be playing at 100%. Does anyone know the utility of setting the sound volume greater than 100% ? I'm just curious.
