Mac Spell checker

Would there be a way to make an AppleScript to change from one dictionary to another ?
I use the spell checker of the Mac to write these mails, in English, but also for other mails in French and also on blog, so in Safari.
As the spell checking is part of the Mac, and not Mail or Safari, I was wondering if the switch from one dictionary to another would be scriptable ?

TIA
Michel Raj
