what you're seeing is a left-over unix mount point that wasn't deleted when the volume disappeared...i believe it's created on the fly before the
'mount <device> /Volumes/device'
part of the finder's smoke&mirrors unix machinations.

no error, it's just an empty directory, so it can be rmdir'd
