More concisely, type-selecting in a "choose from list" dialog doesn't clear the previous selection, so you wind up with two items selected. The only real workaround at the moment is "don't do that -- use the mouse or the arrow keys." The bug is known and we plan to fix it in a future release. More than that I am legally obliged not to say.
