iTunes got an error: Can't get alias "Mac HD:Users:joe:Desktop:04
MySong.mp3" of <<script>>.
But, iTunes goes ahead and opens it anyway.
Wait! You just told me you couldn't do that! That makes it somewhat
of a bug don't you think?
The construction I posted earlier gets no error.
If I hard code the file path, I get the same error that you get, but
if I use choose file, I do not get any error.
Also if I use
open alias ((path to desktop as text) & "Joplin_Maple_Leaf_Rag.mp3")
I also get the same error.
And as with you, in the latter two situations, if I omit "alias", I
don't get the error.
