Actually, another subscriber informed me off-list that an "Open file"
alarm *will* execute a script file if it's designated as the file to
open. I was assuming that, since the two different kinds of alarms
exist in the GUI, open file would just open the file in Script Editor,
but it turns out that's not the case. So problem solved, though things
would get a little more complicated in the unlikely case that I really
did ever want an alarm to open a script file rather than executing the
script.
The purpose is to roll-my-own Make New Event dialogue with AppleScript
Studio. What moe left the location and notes fields off the Automator
action, I'd like to know?
