Sorry for any confusions and I would love to hear suggestions,
From what I understand....Leopard issues a UUID, which is different then 10.4 UID. UUID causes major issues with our LDAP. So I have followed the Apple discussion forums to copy the UID of a local account to that of the people logging in using their ldap. This causes everyone to log in to the lab to be essential the same user (same UID). When the user sends a print job to our print system to deduct print count it is not the actual user, and there in lies the problem

I don't know much about printing ... so I'll ask ...
You need a UUID in order to print, so, you are using the UUID of a user account.
Would any UUID work for printing? Does it have to be a UUID which matches an account?
