help with folder script

  • Subject: help with folder script

Hi,

I'm wondering if it's possible to write a script that

1) runs on a file server each day. We could use some other mechanism for running the script, like Hazel or launchd.
2) recurses down all levels of folders looking for any folder whose name contains a certain string, like "Unaltered."
3) when such folders are found, the contents are evaluated to find if any of the contents are NOT archive files (i.e., .zip, .sit, etc.)
4) if such files are found, they are individually zipped, then the originals deleted.

What does everyone think? Possible? Could you give me a push to get started?

Thanks,
David Wolfe
