Yeargh. Relying on the text not to scroll off the top seems pretty iffy if you don't know what the user is doing in the window...
Who said "top of the window"? That'd be 24 lines. No. I said "scrollback buffer" which is 2000 lines as default, if I remember corrcetly and which is 10000 lines for me.

I think this is more reliable than hoping the user won't switch windows.
