Indeed. Script Debugger 4.5 is a good example: the dictionary gives sample
code in places, lists what commands any class responds to, and has a whole
lot of extra stuff. Ironically, for some reason it doesn't appear properly
in Script Editor.

For a long time, there was no way this could be done. Now that it can, we
don't see a lot of developers leaping in to take advantage of it.

It may be fair to mention Satimage developers' efforts, who resulted in Smile's dictionary begin stuffed with examples. Example of an example below.
