Agreed Mark and to your comments as well as the others quoted above I also
say this:
This is a public forum, where many people are following these threads, even
if they're not actively participating. This is not a one-on-one
conversation. Plus the Apple maintains an archive for this forum, and one of
the first things we tell people looking for information is to check the
archives.
Cryptic, incomplete or sarcastic responses that assume extensive knowledge
of some other scripting language or technology are not as helpful as they
could be. (And that is evidenced by the several of the responses we've seen
to this thread.)
If an answer requires shell scripting or some other language, or technology,
beyond AppleScript the answer should be couched in terms that someone versed
in AppleScript can use.
That is not unreasonable.
