enable menu item in applescript studio

  • Subject: enable menu item in applescript studio

The Apple Studio Reference Guide indicates that " your application has no convenient way of enabling and disabling menu items on
standard application menus (such as the File and Edit menus), so setting this [auto enable] property to false for those menus is not recommended."

So I gather it's not impossible, just difficult? Does anyone have an example of a custom menu item that starts off disabled but can be dynamically enabled once a user authenticates via a panel window? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. --Andrew
