Fields in Word

I'm helping a student who is working on a graduate project and having a problem migrating to Word on Mac OS X.

In Windows they have a visual basic script that allows them to set the page number in the header to the page number for the section, and the page number in the footer for the page number in the document.

So, If there are 10 pages in section 1 and the page numbers are set to back to 1 in section 2, then the page number on page 12 in the header would be: 2 and in the footer would be 12.

In OSX both the header and footer display 2.

It looks like just editing the field code might work, but it doesn't, which is why I believe they were using VB.

Can AppleScript be used to set a formula in a field adding a value the page number?

Any suggestions?

ES
