Of course, I may do the job calling the Finder
but, as I like to learn things, I wonder if there is a way to do that using System Events. It offers a function named duplicate which, at first read must be able to do the job.
The move command in System Events is in the Disk-Folder-File Suite and the duplicate command is in the Standard Suite.
So it looks like the duplicate command is not wired to duplicate files and folders (at least, not in OS X 10.1.1).
Stick with the Finder.
