Wow! That does the job perfectly, Yvan! I can't
tell you how much I appreciate your generous
efforts. I had hoped for a bit of guidance as I
struggled with it, but I never dreamed of getting
a polished script. Three million files renamed
and at least a month of work saved! Merci très,

My thanks also to Mark and Ed for your
suggestions and to the list members as a group
for being here and being a resource for newcomers
to AppleScript. I learned a great deal just from
browsing the archives. I'm looking forward to
learning more and maybe one day being able to
