TID is global for a session. That is if you set it, you have to restart SE to get back the default TID.

I think that's confined to Script Editor. If you set them in Script Editor it doesn't affect them anywhere else, but they are global across any scripts you open in Script Editor.


With Script Debugger they are local to each script and at runtime they are local to each script.

My recollection is that back in the day, they would be global to all appleScripts running on the system at the time. (or something like that)
