No, it doesn't.  (Nor does option-drag, which you meant.)

Option-drag copies to the other value.  It does not "move" it...that is, it
does not put it on the other volume and then delete the original.

I read Mark again, and he says that quite clearly.

See where he says "instead of ... and then deleting the originals?"

That's the part that option-drag will not do...it copies, not moves.
