built&released application not functioning on other Macs..

I have written a test version of an Applescript application, complete
with GUI. When I build the application in XCode to create "file.app"
and double-click the "file.app" icon the application launches...if
it's on my Mac. If I copy the "file.app" to any other machine, it
fails to launch on double-clicking. The example .app files in the
developer folder don't have this issue, so I am uncertain where I
could have gone wrong. Is there an obvious first place to check?
