Dan, There's no need to paste them into a new document, and there's no
need to twiddle the TIDs, just copy to the clipboard and run
display dialog("Words: " & (count words of (the clipboard))
)
Unfortunately, that doesn't answer the question as to why you'd start
getting the same answer after a while...
