They probably figured out a way to override the system hot keys (look at the symbol table of the enhancedmac bundle binary inside in the MacOS subfolder of the application).


One thing to note is they are currently using a _lot_ of function calls in areas which have been declared deprecated or obsolete by Apple. Meaning that it could be seriously impacted when running on Snow Leopard because Apple has stated they're going to trim the system at that point.
