What do you want to return?  What part of the string

"6001[F]this is a test (#1)."

was what you meant by your "word 3 through 6"?

If you mean "this is a test", then that's tricky, since "6001[F]this"
is all one text item if you use space as a delimiter.  But I don't
think that's what you meant, since if it were, the fact that "word of"
strips the brackets and parentheses off wouldn't be a problem.
