I hadn't heard that, I kind of doubt it. I use that command in a lot of scripts I'd hate have to fix that in every script I migrate to later versions.

No, because it's not -- System Events' "process" class is alive and well. I do keep trying to get people to quit using variants of 'name of every process contains "foo"', because it's inefficient and obscure -- if you must use System Events, 'exists process "foo"' is better -- but that's a different matter.
