Sounds cool, but RubyOSA doesn't actually work on my machine. Ruby shows up in the list of dialects in Script Editor, but choosing it has no effect (we are still running in AppleScript, so Ruby scripts won't compile). And in Script Debugger it doesn't show up at all.

Incidentally, Perl, TCL and lua don't show up even in Script Editor.

They all show up OMM but don't work, but that's because the versions on the website expired. Philip is packaging new ones...

The new version should be here: <http://www.vcn.bc.ca/~philip/osa/dl/OSAComponents1050_123.dmg >. I had inexplicably suppressed the expiry alert since probably version 1.2.1. It has been enabled again so you will receive a notification to update.

In case anyone wants to up the bug priority, a problem with Script Editor is that it only will open a double-clicked script if its default language is the same as the one in the double-clicked item. <radr://5584810 >

For the integration with appscript, I can find some time to at least look for solutions to any problems that might arise from pairing these technologies. Also, since folks using appscript are likely to be the kind of users with newer installs of Python or Ruby than the system provides, there is a mechanism available to have these components use them (except for Tcl).
