Oops.  I *never* mean to trivialize, although I think I do, quite often, in
the end. But, I hear you.

I get what you're saying about files and their creators/versions.

It's a pain sometimes.
Hopefully the 'byte 33' trick will do the job for the OP.

...who bought his first Adobe product in 6 years last month.  I needed to
OCR some docs right away, and the educational discount on Acrobat Pro made
the cost $40 plus tax.  Hard to pass up.
