Is it possible to display a progress indicator for an applescript

In my case it's for a process happening via a shell script run from
an applescript.
I remember seeing something in a quicktime example script once but
I can't find the examples anymore.
Thanks, Alan.
This is available through AppleScript Studio--I don't think it's
part of AppleScript or the Standard Additions ("display dialog" is
pretty much the only UI element that can be called from basic AS).

Thanks for the reply Kevin.
I've found a solution using BP Progress Bar. http://scriptbuilders.net/files/bpprogressbar1.0.html
.
