You may try:

tell application "Finder"
try
if "App1" is not in (get every process ) then open application
"App1"
open application "App2"
end try
try
if "App1" is in (get every process ) then quit application "App1"
quit application "App2"
end try
end tell

Does not work either. Launches and then immediately quits...

Same issue as my solution.

Regards.

I apologize but the modified script does what was doing your original script.
It was posted before I receive your comùplementary post saying that the original was not doing what you was wanting.

At this time I don't know what was the script supposed to do.
