It looks like Leopard introduced a problem. There's nothing documented
anywhere, but I first suggest you upgrade Office 2008 to SP 1 - 12.1.0.and
probably best start with OS 10.5.3.
If the same problem still exists there, say so here, and I'll report it and
see if I can find out anything about it.
