Its my first post, so thank you for not blasting me on my many mistakes. I will post the code next time.

Thank you John for pointing me to the Automator mailing list. I will really use that list in the future.

And thank you Marc for that code! I am going to crunch on that a while and see if I can make it work for me. I would much prefer to write an applescript than use automator. I am trying to learn by doing. Winds up being a lot of busted scripts but is fun!!!
