Hi List,
I have a script that renames files in a dropped or double-clicked folder using a couple of methods. One of these is by extracting a list of filenames from a source document created with a text editor.
While this option works unerringly during the very first run, when I edit the source document and run the script again to extract the edited filenames, the order in the folder gets messed up.
How can I harmonize AppleScript's way of manipulating files in the folder with the Finder's manner of organizing the items in that folder? Is there a way to tag an item (file) with an immutable label and associate a text item from a source document as its filename?

can be done would be much appreciated.
