Folder Actions Question

Hello All,

I'm new to this list and fairly new to AppleScript as well.

My most recent scripting attempt has been to write a script that changes the label index of a folder, depending on whether the folder becomes empty or has something put into it. The script itself works fine.

However, I then attached it as a folder action to 600+ folders. The script still works, but takes nearly a minute to do so even if I add or remove a file to/from just one folder. It seems as if it's checking applicability to all 600+ folders even though the script only refers to the one folder to which something is added or removed. Any ideas on what mght be going on here, and any remedies?

Thanks for any help!

Stuart
