Text Edit update behaviour

Hello,

in 10.4.11 TextEdit will update the content of a window if the underlying file has changed - happily and automatically. In 10.5.4 it won't update. There is the 'Revert to Saved' menu, but there is no way to get to that function from AppleScript, or is there?

I don't really want to do GUI scripting on this.
