do shell script openssl weird return

  • Subject: do shell script openssl weird return

I am playing with openssl encoding and decoding, and am I getting getting the string back that I originally encoded and then decoded - that's good. What's weird is that I get that string prefixed with a huge number of characters that I know very little about. The only thing I was able to figure out was they are ascii number 0. What could be causing this?

Rainer
