I agree:

The use of positional calls is fine, IMO, with the underscores in the
handler name making clear the order. And having the handler names like that
probably makes it easier to look up the relevant Cocoa documentation.

The documentation issue is really the main point. Think about all those other bridges out there, they all use the underscore instead of colons call handler way, and it's for the best. I sure don't want to have to unpack someone's AS, basically by guessing, in order to find the relevant Cocoa call.


And as for the "English-like" syntax that is applescript's strength? I've tried named parameters in my own scripts and end up just using parameter ones anyway. Not convinced that's been a strength at all.
