I haven't had any problem with using the copyFile handler when the destination is other than within a sparsebundle. The problem only occurs when copying into a folder in a sparsebundle. I have now inserted an update command at the appropriate places. There will now be a long wait (a month or two) to see if it works.
I have just written a small script to scan for files lacking a comment and found that the problem is very rare. Perhaps 1 file in 100's lacks a comment.
