Hello scripters !
Just an elementary question about using the "modification date".
Let's put it simple.
At the end of a back up script, there are some security controls:
After file A on volume01 has been copied to volume02,
Volume01:file A modification date is compared to Volume02:file A one.
Believe it or not, the 2 modification dates are NOT the same (?!).
For example:
Volume01:file A will be Wednesday December 10 19:40:20
Volume02:file A will be Wednesday December 10 19:40:23
Is it "normal" ?
How to solve this problem ?
Hello ba,
(but who the devil is ba?)
Which command do you use for copying the file? Could you post a
short and self-contained sample snippet?
What are Volume01 and Volume02? Mounted disk images, volumes on
external USB or firewire drives, volumes on USB memory sticks, FAT
or HFS...?
Axel
Axel,
You should remember me.
We had a private talk.
Remember "Axel toggle" script ?
Command used: duplicate
Volume01: internal mac HD (HFS)
Volume01: external HD (FW-HFS)
Thanks.
BA
