unable to execute javascript via applescript in acrobat - result "undefined"

  • Subject: unable to execute javascript via applescript in acrobat - result "undefined"

I'm unable to execute even the simplest of _javascript_ in Acrobat:

     tell application "Adobe Acrobat Professional"
          do script "app.alert('hello world');
     end tell

Acrobat doesn't display the dialog window and Script Editor displays "undefined" as the result.

I'm using Acrobat Pro 8.1.2 on 10.5.6.

Thanks,
Stephan
