The problem is when using "C1" for the value of the cell, it

"Column 1" and thus puts the value 3 in all cells of column 1.
Can you use a range as a workaround?
set value of range "C1:C1" to 3

Shane,
Unfortunately it does not work, excel sets the whole column with the
value 3.
But I have to say, it was a very good idea.
Again, just to clarify, this apparently only happens in excel X (which
by the way is recordable!).
