Hello,

I have been unable to get even the most basic Applescripts to work with Adobe Reader 8 or 9.

Things like

tell application "Adobe Reader"
    active doc
end tell

this is supposed to get the active document, but it doesn't. I get an error instead. "Adobe Reader got an error: Can't get active doc."

the is example is straight from their documentation.

tell application "Adobe Reader"
print pages document "AppleEvt.pdf" first 1 last 3 PS Level 2 with binary output and shrink to fit
end tell

And doesn't work either.

Does anybody have any working examples of Applescripts that work with Adobe Reader 8 or 9?

As far as I know, Adobe Reader, like Preview has no AppleScript Support.

Which documentation are you reading ? The one for the full Acrobat ?
