It works fine under 10.4.11. It is a 10.5 only “bug” because of the “new” file type “registration”.
Under 10.5, when you want to rename a file, the selection is the file name with the type extension if MacOS X does not know it (no application claims it) or only the file name (if an application have registered its type extension).
My problem is if this is a bug or not on 10.5.6 since I have a work-around AND it works fine with files that have an appliction that “registered” that particular file type extension.
And, after all, I am capable of thinking / doing wrong.
