You're missing the point.

Except for getting the path, you can control all of this with standard
FileMaker scripts, and you do NOT need to show the file import dialog.

In the import script, just choose the "Perform without Dialog" option.

Sorry, I am missing more than one point... the final script of my project is more complex...
Not only I want to hide the default dialog.... On importing I need to do operations like: choose a folder of images, create a downsized copy from my Master Files Archive ( Hires Image tiff or jpeg photoshop- ready) , import the friendly-less-storage image in FileMaker as a reference and store too the original MasterFile path as a Version.
My first approach was a FileMaker third-part plug-in... I never used the default FileMaker import Images... too much limited... but AppleScript is another history, possibilities increase a lot, I like too much AppleScripts.

My FileMaker Solution can store every Version, manage Legacy IPTC and XMP fields (get and set Metadata using ExifTool), Keywording Controlled Vocabularies, Controlled Captions, Embed Collections and Portfolios... another big requirement of file management: choose a version, and embed Metadata into a copy of it, then FTP images from a stored Server.
It is a little world of 84 related Tables.

But to stay on topic, the AppleScript that I have posted execute two FileMaker Scripts, which contain more AppleScripts and more FileMaker Script, including Progress Bar showing images being imported.
But I am not a developer, I am a photographer that needs tools to manage Right Managed Stock Photography with an exaggerated improving mania.
That way, in my opinion, AppleScript represents an unlimited horizon of possibilities, that I am exploring passionately. I have a lot of hard work for it.

You're on the wrong list; you should be learning to use FileMaker native
commands until they don't do what you need. That is not the case for what
you are doing.

Thanks for helping
