I don't think so, and I think removing the cache is the only answer for
updating your database contents for an Exchange account with messages that
have been edited. That may depend on server version (mine is regrettably
still at 2003, and I was sure hoping to try that beta). You'll find that's
true no matter where the messages are edited. Discrepancies can remain
between databases on client and server until the cache is cleared, and some
information about messages edited using Entourage applies only to Entourage
and gets lost when synching. Assuming your Entourage implementation shares
those limitations, you can demonstrate that (hope you're using 12.1.5) by
using the Remove All Attachments item in the Message menu for a message with
one or more attachments. In my case, the edit icon then shows up, and if I
choose Synchronize Now, the edit icon remains, but if I then empty the
cache, all evidence that the message ever contained attachments is gone. For
this very reason I customized Paul's script for saving attachments so that
it would append the bodies of my messages with the names of attachments and
the dates that they had been removed.
