Hi Carlos, I used iView, the before-Microsoft version. Very good! and is scriptable. But the storage of all images Metadata has been always "preserved" into FileMaker database. Now I like much more Photo Mechanic, and I use it sometime on special jobs.

I used Aperture for version 1 to 1.5 and now I am using Lightroom as editor, but the database remain the workflow center. I can change all software around my database without affecting my job. And best of all, I can add features, customize and with AppleScript power, I can now communicate with applications, OS and open the Internet portal sending records to MySQL, building PHP pages... etc. It is a little world with no limits.
If you wish take a look at the beta version, I am sharing my solution. If you download it on Mondey you will get the Beat9 Release, that allow to show FIle Info of every image in both Legacy IPTC and XMP fields.
