Well, Chris Nebel's reply indicates that this is not the problem; the
problem is that the original script that you copied from should have
said "home folder" (or maybe "documents folder") not "user folder".
But to repair permissions, run Disk Utility; choose the disk (not the
volume) in the left panel, and click the "repair permissions" button.
